Menswear retailer TM Lewin has announced a return to bricks-and-mortar retail with the opening of a new flagship store.

The menswear specialist has announced the opening of a new flagship store on Bow Lane, London, in a move it called a “pivotal moment” for the business.

TM Lewin’s new store will house a tailoring service that allows customers to personalise their suits and shirts, and an in-store exclusive collection will also be available.

The new flagship store offers tailoring services as well as an in-store exclusive collection

The City of London-based store will offer a range of formal shirts, tailoring and modern workwear essentials as it continues to emphasises its commitment to “quality, service and style” within a competitive menswear space.

The retailer said its new store has been designed to appeal to “the modern professional” shopper and offers a “refined” shopping experience.

TM Lewin managing director Dan Ferris said: “We are thrilled to open our new store on Bow Lane, in the heart of the City of London.

“This flagship location is a key part of our strategy to connect with the next generation of customers who value high-quality, tailored menswear that complements their busy, modern lifestyles. Our aim is to offer a more personalised and immersive experience that enhances our online presence.”

The new store marks TM Lewin’s return to physical retail following the closure of its entire UK store estate in June 2020 after it collapsed into administration.

At the time, TM Lewin said the impact of pandemic restrictions and the introduction of hybrid working took a toll on its finances.

TM Lewin’s owner at the time Torque Brands, part of private equity firm Stonebridge Capital, saved the business after it fell into administration and as a result, TM Lewin pivoted to a digital-only business model.

The retailer fell into administration for a second time in March 2022 and was bought by an investment company owned by its main lender Petra Group.

Petra Group never ruled out the opening of new TM Lewin high street stores at the time of acquisition and relaunched the brand digitally in 2022.
