Sosandar has appointed Stephen Dilks as its new finance director, to replace head of finance James Bowling.

Dilks will join the women’s fashion pureplay, which has recently made deals to sell its clothing via John Lewis and Next websites, on September 7 and will officially take over the reins on September 18 when Bowling departs.

Dilks joins Sosandar from his 11-year stint at outdoorwear brand Regatta, where he has held the role of finance director for the last five years.

Dilks has previously held positions in both retail and FMCG including Kraft Foods and the Co-op.

Sosandar joint chief executives Ali Hall and Julie Lavington said: “James has been an integral part of Sosandar’s journey so far, both in the early days, through our listing, and our tremendous growth and development since. We are incredibly grateful for all the hard work he put into the business and take this opportunity to wish him well in his future endeavours.

“We are very pleased to be welcoming Stephen to the company, his extensive knowledge of finance and operations in a growing retail brand will be invaluable through our journey ahead.

“Notwithstanding the current environment, the opportunity for Sosandar is significant. With his experience across brands and markets, Stephen is well placed to work alongside us to deliver continued growth and shareholder value going forward.”

Sosandar has fared well amid the coronavirus pandemic, with revenues up 62% between April 1 and May 31 compared with the same period a year ago. The etailer also saw a 98% spike in website traffic during lockdown.
