Phase Eight will open its first stores in the United Arab Emirates this month, as it focuses on overseas growth and ramps up its multichannel offer.

The womenswear retailer plans to open seven stores in the region this month and next, locating the majority in Dubai.

As part of its international expansion, Phase Eight also plans to open more concessions and stores in Germany and Switzerland, as well as revamp its online offer, with a mobile site launch planned before summer.

Phase Eight opened its first overseas stores last year, launching in Switzerland with four stores and opening seven concessions in Germany.

A Phase Eight spokeswoman said: “International growth is a key focus for Phase Eight over the next few years, and we recognise a significant opportunity to build our presence globally, through a multi-channel and multi-format approach.

“The pace of expansion has been ambitious but a resounding success.

“In Germany Phase Eight are working closely with Karstadt department stores and in the space of just a few months of opening the seven concessions, has positioned itself as number one performing new brand across all stores.

“The four standalone stores in Switzerland have performed above expectations, demonstrating the success of our brand across different markets, ages and cultures.”

Phase Eight will open its first West End store this month, which will showcase its new store design and trade over two floors on St Christopher’s Place, off Oxford Street.
