London-listed Indian fashion etailer Koovs has unveiled plans to expand into the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.

Koovs, for which India is its biggest market, will launch its private label collection this summer on Souq.com, the Middle East’s leading ecommerce player.

The collection is currently Koovs’ best-selling brand, accounting for 40% of sales.

As it continues to target international expansion, the etailer will work with additional international distribution and fulfilment partners. It aims to launch next in Asia-Pacific.

It insists, however, it will remain focused on India – its core territory and “the fastest growing ecommerce market in the world today”.

Koovs chief executive Mary Turner said: “This is a great opportunity and I am excited to extend the Koovs brand into new territories with our first distribution deal for the Middle East.

“India remains our core market and the private label collection will only be available in India on Koovs.com.”

The etailer’s sales more than doubled in its half-year to £7.9m, but pre-tax profits widened following increased investment in marketing.
