US casualwear retailer J Crew is to open a womenswear boutique in Brompton Cross, west London, which will launch alongside its Regent Street flagship and menswear store.

The store, at 175 Drayton Avenue, will stock limited-edition pieces from its collection and a “highly edited assortment” including Italian cashmere, jewellery, handbags and shoes.

It will also feature J Crew’s design partners including fashion label Comme des Garçons, hats by Patricia Field, and boots by Penelope Chilvers.

The womenswear boutique will open in early November and will follow its first UK store, its menswear-only shop at 38 Lamb’s Conduit that opens on October 10 and its Regent Street flagship which debuts on November 1.

Retail-week.com revealed in May that J Crew was on the hunt for London stores as it planned to launched multiple formats in the capital.

The menswear store, which will be named 38 Lamb’s Conduit, will be primarily a shirt shop and will also feature J Crew’s Ludlow Suiting brands such as Thomas Mason, London Undercover and Begg & Co.

The store will offer services such as monogramming, customised stitching and buttons and a complimentary delivery service.

J Crew chairman and chief executive Millard Drexler said: “I love that every neighbourhood throughout London has its own unique personality – it’s a lot like New York City in that way. After a lot of looking around and visiting various areas, we came across these two very different locations and knew – both were too good to pass up.”
