Fashion retailer Internacionale has filed a notice to appoint PwC as administrator as it is set to collapse for the second time in eight months.

Internacionale filed the attention to appoint at Manchester High Court today, according to Retail Week sister title Drapers.

Lyn Vardy, Toby Underwood and John Cartwright of PwC have been named as joint administrators for the retailer.

It is understood the administrators will be formally appointed later this week.

Corporate restructuring specialist FC Fund Managers, led by former Deutsche Bank distressed debt trader Jason Granite, took control of Internacionale last week after buying £35m of debt from chief executive Raj Sehgal.

The collapse puts 1,500 jobs at risk. The retailer is expected to close its entire 97 store estate if a buyer cannot be found.
