Former Coast boss Margaret McDonald has been lined up to take a senior role at US lingerie giant Victoria’s Secret, Retail Week has learned.

It is understood that McDonald, who it emerged last week is leaving Coast, will lead Victoria’s Secret’s clothing division in the US.

McDonald is the second Aurora executive to have caught the eye of the lingerie giant. She is poised to join former Aurora Fashions colleague Ishan Patel, who is due to start his role as vice-president of ecommerce at Victoria’s Secret in July.

It is understood that McDonald, who was managing director of Coast, will be based at Victoria’s Secret’s global headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. She leaves Coast in July and Aurora Fashions veteran Derek Lovelock will take over the day-to-day running of the business.

The iconic lingerie retailer, which is owned by Limited Brands, launched in the UK last year with flagship stores on Bond Street and Westfield Stratford City. It has more than 1,000 stores worldwide.

McDonald was not contactable for comment.
