Asos has launched an ethically minded and sustainable edit of clothing on its site to provide environmentally concious customers more choice.

The fashion etailer’s customers will be able to browse the fashion and homeware collection from the likes of fashion brands Monki, Tommy Hilfiger and Ellesse knowing they are either recycled or made from sustainable material.

The retailer said new products will be added to the edit on a daily basis and will also introduce a wider range of filters over the next few months, according to Drapers.

Asos follows in the footsteps of Net-a-Porter and Farfetch, which both have similar initiatives – Net Sustain and The Conscious Edit.

The initiative allows customers to buy items that match a number of environmental and ethical measures such as animal welfare, locally made items and reducing waste in the supply chain.

Online retailer Boohoo also launched a recycled collection this week, For the Future, which includes tops, skirts and trousers made form 95% recycled material and produced in the UK to cut down on carbon footprint.
