Ethel Austin grants Bibby distribution task

Ethel Austin has handed over full responsibility for its distribution operation to Bibby Distribution, following plans to open 200 new stores.

The three-year deal, worthÂŁ5 million, will see Bibby handling supplies to Ethel Austin's 280 stores in the UK. Previously, Bibby only distributed to stores outside the Northwest.

The initiative is part of a rationalisation following aÂŁ122.5 million buy-out last month, backed ABN AMRO Capital.

Ethel Austin this year celebrates the 70th anniversary of its first store opening in Liverpool. It is also in the process of appointing a chairman.
