Shoe chain Dune has appointed former Mosaic-owned Shoe Studio boss John Egan as chief executive.

Egan, who left Shoe Studio in March, will help 42-store chain Dune expand its international and concessions business. He had worked at Shoe Studio Group for eight years and began his career at Bally, where he worked for 15 years.

Dune owner Daniel Rubin will become executive chairman of the retailer. He said: “I have known John for many years. His footwear expertise and leadership qualities will be hugely valuable to Dune during this important stage in the company’s growth. I greatly look forward to working with him to continue to drive the business forward.”

Egan will take up his role on September 8.
