DSGi has appointed Mario Maiocchi as managing director of its operation in Italy.
Maiocchi joins from Metro Group, where he has worked since 1998, most recently as managing director of cash and carry for Italy. He will have overall responsibility for a 3,500-strong workforce and a retail portfolio of 253 stores.
DSGi also confirmed that Fabio Godano has joined UniEuro, its Italian electricals chain, as commercial director. Previously he was buying director at Italian furniture and electricals group PAM.
DSGi's Italian operation is comprised of UniEuro and PC City, the specialist computer chain.
