Four ex-Allders stores added to deal with second biggest property company
Debenhams has added four more sites to its 23-store leaseback agreement with British Land, which was hammered out in February. The retailer will lease four former Allders sites. The freeholds of three of the sites, in Slough, Woking and Basildon, were previously owned by British Land and leased by Allders. The site in Clapham Junction, south London has been bought from Debenhams in an agreement separate to the one made in February. No price has been quoted for the sale of the Clapham Junction site, but British Land said that Debenhams will be paying an initial rent of£1.25 million per year.

Debenhams stated that it would take on the sites in Slough, Basildon and Clapham Junction on February 2, along with five other ex-Allders stores.

Debenhams chief executive Rob Templeman said: 'We are delighted to work again with British Land on expanding our store portfolio.'
