Five retailers have signed pre-lets for the Dawn Group's £20 million redevelopment of the former Arnotts store in Dundee.

Zara, Ottakar's, Slater Menswear, the Original Shoe Co and Republic have all signed leases. A sixth unit is under offer.

Work began late last year to convert the Grade A-listed Arnotts building into 86,000 sq ft (7,990 sq m) of new retail space in seven units.

Dawn has been working closely with Historic Scotland to retain several architectural features of the building, including the pillared tearoom.

Springford & Co and Montagu Evans are joint letting agents for the development.

- Lend Lease has signed two more retailers for its Overgate scheme, which occupies Dundee's prime retail pitch.

Silverscreen is to open its second store in Scotland, with a 2,190 sq ft (205 sq m) unit on the lower level, and art dealer Thomas Kinkade is opening its first Scottish store, taking a 375 sq ft (35 sq m) unit on the upper mall.

Rents are between£110 and£115 Zone A.
