The electricals retailer’s festive advert is entitled ‘The Magic of Christmas Upgraded’ and features a variety of gadgets from Google Home devices to drones juxtaposed against a traditional Victorian Christmas.

The 40-second, Dickens-inspired TV advert will be accompanied with shorter adverts to promote ecommerce features including its ‘Point and Place’ app, which uses AR technology to allow shoppers to see what a product would look like in their home.

The advert was produced by creative agency AMV BBDO and media agency Blue 449.

The campaign will also be launched across YouTube and social media until November 24.

Dixons Carphone’s head of brand and advertising Georgina Bramall said: “Christmas is an amazing time of year, but it can be stressful when it comes to getting it right for family and friends. At Currys PC World, we’ll help our customers enjoy amazing technology that can upgrade even the most established of Christmas traditions to transform the moment.”
