Cocosa, the etailer owned by former Harrods tycoon Mohamed Al Fayed, has relaunched its website using technology which automatically responds to the device the shopper is using.
The etailer says it’s the first time the technology - responsive wireframe design - has been used by a UK fashion site, although electricals firm Currys has experimented with it.
The technology means website creators have only got to design and update one site. As mobile grows, especially for browsing, ecommerce managers are faced with a tough decision on what to prioritise in terms of investment.
A quick show of hands at the Retail Week Ecommerce Summit a couple of weeks ago showed that the vast majority of multichannel bosses still design for their desktop site first, however Aurora Fashions omnichannel director Ishan Patel predicts that will change in the next year or two.
However, this technology takes away the need to prioritise as the one site automatically resizes to whichever device the shopper is using. Why not grab your mobile, tablet or desktop and see how it works on www.cocosa.com.
