Arrogant Cat to expand shop base in retail push

Founder and managing director Edmund Chan said the company, which was the subject of bid speculation a year ago by Karen Millen co-founder and Baugur co-investor Kevin Stanford, has “put to bay” any suggestions of a private equity partnership.

He told Retail Week that the company had held “preliminary discussions” with three potential equity partners over the year, but that the company “has decided to grow organically with internal funding and bankers’ support”.
