Notonthehighstreet.com has launched in Germany as the first step in its international expansion plans after significant UK business growth.

The retailer, which operates as an online marketplace, has signed up more than 100 independent German businesses and designers for the launch of the standalone German website.

Notonthehighstreet.com wants to expand the numbers of partners rapidly over the coming months and reveals it launched in Germany on the back of the UK business receiving a significant growth in sales and web traffic from Europe.

Notonthehighstreet.com co-founder and president Holly Tucker said the company chose Germany for its first international launch because of its appreciation of “outstanding product design”.

She added: “It has taken significant dedication from a number of teams within both the UK and Germany to ensure our operation would be ready for launch”.

The international move comes on the back of the retailer launching a marketing campaign to change perceptions of the business from somewhere to go for gifting products to a location for more general purchases.
