Next chief executive Lord Wolfson took home £4.65m including a £3.6m bonus in the fashion retailer’s last financial year.

Wolfson could have pocketed a lot more but opted to give away his £4m share matching plan bonus to staff.

Meanwhile, Next design guru Christos Angelides took home £6.6m, including a £5.8m bonus while finance chief David Keens bagged £5.4m and a £4.8m bonus.

Next had a bumper year as pre-tax profit jumped 11.8% to £695.2m for the year ending January 2014. Its profits are expected to overtake that of Marks & Spencer, which reveals its full year results on May 20.
