Zavvi will tomorrow begin its first Sale since rebranding from Virgin Megastores in September, joining a raft of high street retailers that have started deep discounting to encourage sales.

The Sale, which will be launched in all Zavvi stores and online, will include more than 600,000 CDs and 2 million games available from only£2.

Zavvi will run a print ad and online campaign to publicise the discounts.

Zavvi chief executive Simon Douglas said: “We have created the best Sale that entertainment retail has ever seen, we are offering what amounts to possibly the largest range of discounted music and games with our warehouse clearance stock, plus we have hundreds of great discounts across our extensive catalogue of DVDs, games and CDs.”

Zavvi was formed after a management buy-out of Virgin Megastores and operates 125 stores across the UK and Ireland.
