Ex-Woolworths marketing director to join board
Wyevale has appointed Dianne Thompson as a non-executive director. Thompson is chief executive of National Lottery operator Camelot, a role she has held sine 2000. She is also a former non-executive director of motoring organisation RAC. Her retailing experience includes marketing directorships at Signet and Woolworths.

Wyevale chairman David Williams said: 'Dianne is joining our board just at the time that we are implementing a new strategy. Dianne's experience in sales and marketing, combined with her unique perspectives on the UK marketplace and consumers, will be of immense help as we further build Wyevale's leadership of the garden centre market.'

Thompson's appointment is the third board change announced by the retailer in just over a month. At the end of June, Wyevale revealed the appointment of property expert Andrew Lewis-Pratt as a non-executive. In July, it announced that its chief executive officer Bob Hewitt was to step down. Williams is also fighting a call for his own replacement from major shareholder Laxey Partners.
