Woolies picks North as non-exec director

Woolworths has secured the services of the former finance director of Burton Group and brewer Bass as a non-executive director.

Richard North was also chief executive of Intercontinental Hotels Group from 2002 until 2004 and previously held a non-executive post on Asda's board.

Woolworths group chairman Gerald Corbett said: '[Richard] brings to Woolworths further heavyweight business and technical experience, including significant retail know-how.'
