Three private equity firms are understood to have made approaches for the DIY chain
A growing number of potential bidders are understood to be circling Focus Wickes, with Permira, Cinven and CVC put in the frame this morning. The three private equity houses have made separate takeover approaches for the DIY retailer, according to a report in the Times.

The moves follow reports in the Financial Times that plumbing supplier Wolseley and Jewson owner St Gobain have both registered an interest. In addition, Travis Perkins chief executive Frank McKay told both the Sunday Times and Sunday Telegraph that he had the wherewithal to purchase the chain.
