DIY specialist Wickes’ services director Tim Matthews took a leaf out of illusionist David Blaine’s book by spending the August bank holiday weekend suspended in a 4ft by 4ft glass box 20ft above the ground outside the Aylesbury store.
He was raising money for a blood cancer charity and spent 34 hours cooped up. He will no doubt be delighted that the £10,000 raised was no illusion.
