Former B&Q boss looks forward to retirement
Former B&Q chief executive Bill Whiting has resigned from his role as Kingfisher director, effective tomorrow. The move is part of Whiting's staggered retirement and he will stay on as a part-time executive until leaving the company at the end of March.

Whiting has been at B&Q for 23 years, and was replaced as B&Q chief executive by Rob Cissell in 2003. Whiting said: 'In my time with B&Q, I've seen it grow 20 times over. The remarkable thing is that the future prospects, especially with the new international markets, now look even more exciting than they did in 1982.'
