Berkshire Hathaway?s slice stands at 3%
Legendary US investor Warren Buffett's company now has nearly a 3 per cent stake in supermarket giant Tesco, it has emerged.

Buffett's - the world's second-richest man - investment company Berkshire Hathaway has built up a 2.9 per cent shareholding in Tesco, according to his company's annual report updated yesterday.

Berkshire Hathaway now owns 229.7 million Tesco shares, worth US$1.3 billion (£663.1 million), according to its 2006 report.

Berkshire Hathaway initially snapped up at least 177.8 million Tesco shares, a 2 per cent stake, after the retailer announced its plans last February, according to Berkshire filings. Buffett is understood to be worth an estimated US$44 billion (£22.44 billion).
