Couch foods most popular
Walkers Crisps is the biggest brand in the UK for the second year running, according to TNS.

The analyst said the brand had accrued£505 million in sales over the year and beat stiff competition from Birds Eye, Kelloggs and Cadbury Chocolate, holding second, third and fourth place respectively.

However, the real winner of the survey, run in conjunction with Marketing magazine, was Muller, which managed to increase sales by 14 per cent compared with the previous year and swipe the number five spot from Heinz.

TNS Superpanel communications director Edward Garner said: 'It is notable that nearly all of the top 10 brands can be considered convenience foods. The British population continues in its cash rich, time poor trend which is demonstrated through our food choices.'
