Waitrose opened its latest market town store last week at Brackley in Northamptonshire.

The 13,000 sq ft (1,205 sq m) shop is its third market town opening and Waitrose will test these three stores ahead of a roll-out next year.

The store includes more local lines, more emphasis on fresh food, a bakery and also offers the Waitrose Deliver online shopping service.

Waitrose manager Steve Laughton said: “We’ve aimed to reflect the ambience of a traditional grocery shop by focusing on the sense of community and service to ensure our customers feel that this is their neighbourhood shop.

“There is a real passion for quality food here and we are delighted to have the opportunity to bring our offer to the town and let people discover our brand.”

Waitrose’s first two market town formats opened at St Neots in Cambridgeshire and Buckingham in Buckinghamshire.
