Waitrose is to focus on festive homeward journeys in its Christmas TV campaign which debuts on Tuesday.

The ads show the anticipation of people across the world making journeys home to family and friends.

It includes a student making her way home on a packed train, a young child sleeping among presents in a car, and a photojournalist carrying gifts as he descends from a helicopter.

Slotted between the homecoming scenes, Waitrose is showcasing its party and Christmas food, including mini Yorkshire puddings, brie & cranberry parcels and gammon with winter fruit chutney.

Waitrose advertising manager Gillian Connor said: “There are few things that can evoke a warmer feeling than coming home for Christmas – to enjoy meals and gathering with family and friends. This campaign is aimed at celebrating that feeling whilst reinforcing what

Waitrose is known for all year round – great food and drink.”

The ad, shot in the Lake District, the Royal Air Force Odiham base at Hook, and on location in Spain, will run until Christmas Eve, with an additional four 10-second ads highlighting key special food offers.
