The Original Factory Shop drafts in former Poundland exec as new managing director

The Original Factory Shop has announced the appointment of Tim Bettley as its new managing director, who took the helm from April 22, 2025, succeeding Ian Williams.

Bettley was most recently commercial director at Pepco Group’s Poundland and Dealz until December last year. He rejoins The Original Factory Shop having previously been commercial director at the discount retailer between 2015 and 2018.

The retailer said in a statement that Bettley brings “extensive experience” and joins the business as a “highly experienced retail leader” after he also held senior leadership positions at the likes of Morrisons and Peacocks during his career.

Bettley said of his appointment: “I am looking forward to revitalising The Original Factory Shop (TOFS).

“I know the special relationship which the brand has with its customers and I will be focused on ensuring that sits at the heart of our business going forward.

“It will be good to be back working with the great TOFS team, many of whom I know from my previous time with the company.”

The Original Factory shop also said of Williams departure: “The company has expressed its appreciation for his leadership and dedication and wishes him well in his future roles.”
