Redcats UK, which runs La Redoute and Daxon, has begun a consultation process which could lead to the loss of 130 jobs across its operations in Bradford and Wakefield.

In statement the catalogue company, part of the Redcats Group, which is owned by PPR, said it was “committed to maintaining its presence in the important UK market”.

“To this end, it has made significant financial and operational obligations, covering both premises and IT systems, as well as a series of marketing and organisational initiatives.”

It added: “Redcats UK must ensure that structures are appropriate to face the commercial and operational challenges of the UK’s fast growing home shopping market.  Many initiatives have already been taken and the strategic proposals announced today are needed in order to maintain our competitive position.”

Owner PPR earlier this week announced that it was planning to sell off some of its lower margin retail businesses, which could include Redcats.
