Toys R Us has launched the fourth version of its UK website, which has been designed to make it easier for customers to browse and find products.

The site is based on Hybris’s Commerce Suite platform and marks the latest development for the retailer’s direct business, which has been online since 1996.

Toys R Us marketing and e-commerce director Mike Coogan said: “Our prime objective was to make our website more intuitive and easier to navigate. The Hybris platform has enabled us to build a functionally rich e-commerce solution that will allow us to enhance our online presence.

“The size and diversity of our product line – from toys to computers to pushchairs – means that taking a consistent and co-ordinated approach to product information management and pricing is essential.”

Hybris UK country manager Andrew Piscina said that the scalable platform will also allow Toys R Us to take advantage of new Web 2.0 capabilities.

The Hybris platform has already been deployed by Zavvi, whose site went live in 2007.
