Land Securities has this week started marketing an iconic site at London’s Piccadilly Circus, giving retailers the chance to trade in one of the most photographed locations in the world.

The site – being marketed as One Piccadilly Lights – houses fast-food chain Burger King and sits alongside Boots and Gap and opposite Lillywhites. The unit is 10,715 sq ft (995 sq m) on three floors.

Land Securities head of asset management at the London portfolio Robert Heskett said the site offers a branding opportunity, not just retail space. He said: “Piccadilly Lights sees more than 1 million people cross its path every week.”

Churston Heard and Thomas Davidson are advising on the letting. Churston Heard head of central London Richard Scott said: “It has been more than 20 years since the Burger King site has been up for grabs. We’re expecting interest from the UK and overseas and the rent is likely to go to more than£1 million.”
