Profits nearly double
Regional mixed-merchandise retailer TJ Morris has seen a£44 million increase in turnover for the year ended June 30.

The private retailer, which runs 83 outlets across northwest England, primarily under the Home Bargains brand, saw turnover rise from£141.2 million last year to£185.7 million. Profit before tax was£12.1 million, compared with£6.7 million the year before.

Sole director Tom Morris founded the company in 1976.
