Jaeger boss Harold Tillman has been linked to a possible bid for fashion chain Austin Reed.

The entrepreneur is reported to have noted his interest to owners Guy Naggar and Peter Klimt, as well as Austin Reed’s bankers.

The ownership of Austin Reed has come under question after Naggar and Klimt’s property holding business Dawnay, Day went into administration last month. Although Dawnay, Day does not own Austin Reed directly, it is believed its owners may sell off some of their investments, including Austin Reed, to raise money.

Austin Reed chief executive Nick Hollingworth is also believed to be interested in an MBO, should the retailer’s investors decide to sell.
