Charity to get 10% of retail price
Consumers can now enjoy a guilt-free tipple, because off-licence chain Threshers is launching a range of Fairtrade wines in stores this Wednesday.

The retailer worked with Fairtrade Foundation to select eight quality wines from South America and South Africa, six of which are from Threshers' own brand Origin.

Threshers head of global sourcing Jonathan Butt said: 'With our specially selected Fairtrade wines, customers get great quality wines, and producers will see real benefits in their local communities. Making a difference has never been easier or more enjoyable.'

For every Fairtrade bottle sold, Threshers will donate 10 per cent of the retail price to Wine Relief, the wine department of charity Comic Relief, which runs from January 31 to March 16.

The Fairtrade Foundation guarantees a better deal for third-world producers, by providing better trading conditions, stable prices and investing in local community schemes.
