Mike Davies takes over from Peter Burdon
Confectionery retailer Thorntons has announced the appointment of Mike Davies as chief executive, with immediate effect. Davies' formal appointment as a director on the board of Thorntons will take place following the company's AGM on October 25.
Davies takes over from Peter Burdon who resigned on September 30. Davies, 53, has previously worked for Mars Inc. for 20 years and before that for Procter & Gamble for three years.
Thorntons chairman John von Spreckelsen said: 'We are delighted that Mike has agreed to join Thorntons, bringing with him his considerable knowledge of the chocolate and confectionary market.'
