Everyone in business needs to take the new Bribery Act seriously, but it comes as no surprise that it’s an American-owned retailer which has taken it one step further.
One supplier to Asda reports receiving a letter informing them that in future any visitors from Asda may be given tea, coffee, water, biscuits – and nothing else.
Heaven forbid they may be offered as much as a sandwich to get them through the hours of tiresome negotiations, but at least by the time they leave they’ll be so hungry they’ll need to stop off at one of their stores on the way home.
