L’Oréal wants £850m for The Body Shop

The Body Shop’s owner L’Oréal, which put the retailer up for sale earlier this year with a price tag of about £850m, has included Bonomi’s Investindustrial among second-round bidders, City AM reported.

Other investors that have been linked to interest in The Body Shop include private-equity giant CVC Capital Partners, South Korean player CJ Group, and Advent International, which previously owned sofas specialist DFS.

Bonomi paid £150m for a 37.5 per cent stake in Aston Martin in 2012, and his fund previously owned Italian bike-maker Ducati.

The Body Shop operates 3,000 stores in 66 countries.
