The Body Shop will be closing 75 stores in a phased process over the coming weeks, cutting its UK store footprint by nearly half.

Administrators FRP Advisory announced the closure of 75 stores across the country resulting in 489 job losses at the struggling beauty chain.

This comes after the retailer shut seven stores with immediate effect and cut 40% of its headquarters staff earlier this month as it restructured the UK business.

The stores closed earlier this month were: Surrey Quays; Oxford Street Bond Street; Canary Wharf; Cheapside; Nuneaton; Ashford Town Centre; and Bristol Queens Road

The Body Shop’s total store count in the UK will be 116, down from 199 before the administration process began.
