Tesco has today launched a brand of semi-skimmed milk in stores that costs just £1.06 for a two-litre carton.

Tesco claims the milk, called Fresh n Lo, is 10p a litre cheaper than standard milk sold in every big retailer.

Tesco dairy category director David Wood said: “As customers wrestle with increasing household bills, it is important that we help them combat inflation."

Fresh n Lo, a Robert Wiseman dairies product, has been available in Scotland for almost 30 years. This is the first time it will be available in England and Wales.

It will be available exclusively in all larger Tesco stores alongside its standard, organic and Localchoice milk.
