Inditex has centralised its shipping logistics information and control onto a single web platform.
It is being used to enhance the retailer’s fast fashion rapid replenishment model around the world. Improved information on inbound shipments helps Inditex’s distribution centres to proactively support its chains’ continuous store replenishment requirements.
The owner of Zara, Pull & Bear and Bershka has chosen to introduce the GT Nexus trade and logistics portal as a global ocean freight information system. It provides detailed container status and event information, documentation management and automates interaction with the retailer’s ocean carriers.
Inditex is also trying to completely remove paper documentation from its ocean freight transaction processes, and plans to expand this to air freight too.
