Home Bargains, has invested in Manta electronic seals to increase security and eliminate unauthorised access to its transport fleet.

The retailer has introduced the Manta seal, developed by Unisto, to 120 of its vehicles to improve the levels of security associated with the distribution of goods to over 200 stores across the UK.

Alan Beech, Transport Manager for Home Bargains parent company TJ Morris said: “We selected the Manta electronic seal to replace the mechanical system that was previously used after a thorough review of all available solutions.” He added that the seals provide “higher levels of security than could be achieved with mechanical alternatives and enable us to gather detailed information on delivery performance to increase the efficiency of our distribution network.”

The Manta seal generates a random four digit number on its integrated LED every time the doors are closed. This number is stored in the delivery manifest and can be visually checked to identify any unauthorised openings.

The data provided by the Manta seals will also provide Home Bargains with the ability to complete detailed audits for security investigations to resolve any stock discrepancies.
