Amazon signs up first retail customer for Just Walk Out technology

Amazon-Go-Seattle-29029

An airport retail specialist has become the first retailer to subscribe to Amazon’s cashier-less store technology, which the etail giant has begun offering to other businesses.

OTG, which runs food and beverage business Cibo Express Gourmet Markets, will start using Amazon’s ‘Just Walk Out’ technology from next week.

The first branch to offer the service will be in Newark Liberty Airport Terminal C in the USA, to be followed by more branches at that airport and LaGuardia.

Shoppers enter the store using their credit cards, pick what they want and then simply leave without the need to queue.
