NotOntheHighStreet.com the fashion and gifts etailer, has raised £7.5m from venture capital firms Index Ventures and Greylock Partners to support a redesign and expansion of its site.

The new look website, which will be unveiled next week, will have a cleaner look and will feature functions including pop-up product summaries and filtered searches, enabling shoppers to search by specifics such as product type or colour.

The investment in the site, co-founded by entrepreneurs Holly Tucker and Sophie Cornish in 2006, will also mean it can create a new business support division for its partners. Tucker said the service was necessary to ensure suppliers could cope with demand.

She said: “The site is growing at 150% year on year but some of our partner companies are experiencing growth of 1,500% year on year. We need everyone involved to be able to scale up quickly.”

The site stocks 35,000 products from 1,600 partners including homewares, fashion, gifts and

garden products. It forecasts turnover of £14m this year and hopes to double that by the end of 2011.
