Luxury watch brand Tag Heuer is to open its second UK store in Westfield’s flagship 1.6 billion shopping centre in west London.

The retailer, which is owned by LVMH, will open just outside the centre’s luxury area, which will feature more than 40 top-end stores, as well as restaurants and bars. So far, luxury fashion retailer Louis Vuitton, which will anchor the upscale area, is the only retailer confirmed by Westfield to have signed to it.

Tag Heuer made its UK debut in 2001 with a flagship store on Brook Street in London’s West End.

Australian developer Westfield confirmed this week that it has set the date for the opening of its flagship shopping centre development.

The 1.6 million sq ft (148,640 sq m) scheme near Shepherd’s Bush in west London will open on October 30.

The opening date for the centre has been the subject of speculation for some time, but it was known that owners Westfield and Commerz Real AG were aiming to have the centre trading by this Christmas.

In the past week, department store group Debenhams has been handed the keys for its anchor store at Westfield London, becoming the final anchor tenant to begin its fit-out programme.

Debenhams joins House of Fraser, which will open a 103,000 sq ft (9,570 sq m) department store, Marks & Spencer, and Next, which all have fit-outs in progress at the centre. The 144,000 sq ft (13,340 sq m) Debenhams store will open in the south-west corner of the centre and trade over four floors.

Westfield London will house just under 300 retail units and a food offering of more than 40 caterers.

Tag Heuer was represented by agent Harper Dennis Hobbs.
