T-Mobile UK has appointed Andrew Coull as director of retail as it eyes further retail growth.

Coull was promoted from head of retail operations, a role he has held since he joined the T-Mobile in January 2007. He will be responsible for driving the retail vision of T-Mobile and customer service.

Previously, Coull held positions with Superdrug, Sainsbury’s and Marks & Spencer.

T-Mobile UK sales and service director Gordon Ballantyne said that Coull will bring a “wealth of experience” to his new role. “He takes over at an exciting time. We have ambitious plans to grow retail connections with a specific focus on pay as you go and mobile internet and broadband,” he added.

“Under Andrew’s leadership, the number of stores will exceed 300 stores by the end of the year. This larger footprint will bring us closer to our customers and enhance the T-Mobile brand on the high street.”

Separately, Russell Taylor has been brought in as customer services director.

T-Mobile has 275 stores across the UK, employing more than 1,800 people.
