John Lewis is to push British-sourced products in its stores to support UK manufacturing.

The department store will mark all domestically-sourced products with a “Made in UK” stamp that will go on lines made by 130 British manufacturers.

John Lewis head of brand department Christine Kasoulis told the Sunday Telegraph: “The reason for doing this now is that there’s a feeling that businesses should be doing more to support UK manufacturing.”

She added that 90% of John Lewis’ own-brand carpets are manufactured in Britain, as well as some of its menswear that sells under the John Lewis & Co label.
