CDS Superstores, owner of The Range, Wilko and Homebase, has entered into a partnership to improve and enhance its supply chain capabilities.

Relex Solutions will aid the retailer in forecasting and replenishment across its store portfolio of over 285 UK and Ireland stores, and distribution network.

It will support CDS in strengthening product availability and operational efficiency while it continues to scale and transition to a regionalised distribution model.

The partnership arrives as the group continues to expand its empire of homeware, furniture, DIY and garden products to “maintain strong on-shelf availability and a responsive supply chain”.

Relex’s AI-driven platform will provide better visibility across stores and distribution centres to provide more accurate demand forecasting and replenishment planning.

This also enables systems to forecast demand at store level to connect localised patterns and trends that align with planning to make sure stock is correct. Relex’s partner Demandtex will also support the rollout.

CDS Superstores chief executive Alex Simpkin said: “As we continue to grow, investing in technology that strengthens our supply chain is essential.

“Relex gives us enhanced visibility and smarter forecasting across our network, helping us ensure the right products are available for our customers at the right time. This is an important step in building the operational resilience and scalability required to support our long-term growth ambitions.”

Relex Solutions senior vice president of Europe, Middle East and Africa Jason Berry added: “It is exciting to support CDS as they evolve their operating model. Our platform is designed to help retailers manage complexity at scale, and we look forward to delivering measurable value as CDS continues its growth journey.”
