Legal action that had threatened the beginning of construction work on Multi Development’s Summer Row scheme in Wolverhampton has been dropped.

Work had been due to begin last year, but was delayed when London & Cambridge Properties, which owns the Wulfrun Shopping Centre in Wolverhampton, launched its challenge to Multi Development’s proposals for the site in March.

This has now been withdrawn and construction work is set to start in early 2009.

The£300 million mixed-use scheme will cover a total of 600,000 sq ft (55,740 sq m) and be anchored by a 105,000 sq ft (9,755 sq m) Debenhams store. Fashion retailer H&M has also signed up for space.
