As property pundit and The Range founder Chris Dawson enters Retail Week’s rich list, we take a look at what the retailer has to offer.

Dawson, founder of cut-price home chain The Range, made it into Retail Week’s list of the industry’s wealthiest 100 retailers for the first time this year, following some fruitful property moves.

Plymouth-born Dawson, who started in business at the age of seven selling ice cream, owns most of the 130-strong chain, which is now worth about £1.5bn. After some hefty investment, The Range is set to make profits of more than £100m in 2016.

We nipped into The Range next to Reading station when visiting Ikea’s newest big-box store last month.
